At a set and 4-0 up Hlavackova and Peng appeared to be cruising towards their first title together, but they were forced to overcome some late jitters before eventually triumphing, 6-4, 6-4.
Peng's nerves were clear for all to see when serving for the match, a couple of loose points gifting Black and Mirza a 0-30 advantage.
Urged on by a partisan crowd, the No.5 seeds eventually got over the line on their third match point, Peng smashing a way through their opponent's stubborn defenses. "It's really exciting to win because it is the second tournament together for me and Andrea," Peng said.
"In the second set when we were up 4-0, I was so tight and at that moment I could not even swing at the ball. "It's really thanks to Andrea that we won. She kept talking to me, smiling out there and making me loose. After the match in the locker room, we said to each other, 'It's not bad idea we teamed up!'"
