EASTBOURNE, Great Britain - Karolina Pliskova served notice for next week's Wimbledon Championships by claiming the title at the last grass court warmup event in Eastbourne.

The No.2 seed soared to her second title in Eastbourne, joining the first trophy she won in 2017, without the loss of a set across five matches, and capped it off with a dominant 6-1, 6-4 win over No.4 seed Angelique Kerber in Saturday's final.

EASTBOURNE, Great Britain - No.6 seed Simona Halep dropped just two games against the always-tricky Hsieh Su-Wei to power into the third round of the Nature Valley International.

Playing in her first singles match since the French Open, Halep completed the seamless transition onto grass courts in style, defeating Hsieh 6-2, 6-0 in just 53 minutes.

- Alison Riske of the United States finished off a tremendous week by fighting off five championship points on her way to an upset of top seed and home favorite Kiki Bertens, 0-6, 7-6(3), 7-5, to win her second career WTA singles title at the Libéma Open on Sunday.

The happy couple recited their vows in front of 120 family and friends at Castiglion del Bosco in Italy. The intimate ceremony was the culmination of a weekend that was all about understated elegance in a setting straight out of a fairytale, with a flawless wedding wardrobe to boot—the highlight of which was the bride’s Oscar de la Renta gown, embroidered with Lyon lace and worn with a classic cathedral length tulle veil.

But way before her dress fittings at Oscar de la Renta—documented here—and an epic walk down a 262-foot long aisle bisecting the town square at Castiglion del Bosco, there was the meet cute in Miami that started everything. Caroline first crossed paths with David at a dinner there three and a half years ago. “We met through a mutual friend of ours,” she recalls. They all went out for a group dinner where the two hit it off immediately. After a little over two years of dating, he proposed with an 8.88 carat—eight is her lucky number—diamond engagement ring in Bora Bora in November of 2017.

 Maria Sharapova will make her reappearance on Tuesday at Mallorca Open after five months out of WTA tour due to an injury. Former World No.1 explained that her shoulder is “feeling well because I have taked time to come back for my first event” and added that her first game is “a challenge because I missed a lot of things”.

“Mallorca Open is a great place to train because it brings me better whather conditions than England to practice”, said Sharapova. Actually WTA No.86 ranked remembered that she was in Mallorca “fifteen years ago” and added that it is “a very nice place to visit driving your car”.

Contesting her first completed grass court match of the week, former champion Donna Vekic prevailed against Tatjana Maria in three sets to book her place in the Nature Valley Open final.

“I’m super happy to be back in the final, and finally completed a match on grass as well,” Vekic said afterwards. “That was really fun, to be out there playing again. I’m really looking forward to tomorrow.”

Donna vekic advances to SF in 2019 Nottingham Open

Four days into the Nature Valley Open, No.2 seed Donna Vekic finally got her feet on her beloved grass - but although that lasted under a set in total, the former winner survived a long afternoon of rain delays and, eventually, a move indoors to defeat No.8 seed Kristina Mladenovic 7-5, 6-4 and reach her third straight semifinal in Nottingham.

"I’m just happy the match is finished, I won, and I'm going back to the hotel now," Vekic said with a laugh, after her victory. "It’s just been a really crazy day."
