Caroline Wozniacki wins over Sharapova into BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore 2014.

Caroline Wozniacki played solid tennis in Singapore to beat Maria Sharapova in her debut match at the 2014 WTA Finals in Singapore, winning after more than 3 hours of grueling battle with the final score of 7-6(4) 6-7(5) 6-2.

With this win Caroline, who chose to stick with her dad as her coach from now on, shows off her perfect condition in this final part of the season, just a little more than a month after reaching her second Grand Slam final in New York. For the Russian now the year-end World No.1 goal, overtaking Caroline's friend Serena Williams, seems a little further.

In order to keep her chances to close the year on top of the women's rankings alive, Maria won't be allowed to lose any more more matches in Singapore.
