The prize money on offer at Wimbledon will increase this summer. $2.8million for 2017 singles champion

The winner of this year's Wimbledon singles title will pick up a cool $2.8million, the tournament has announced.

That is a ten per cent increase on last year's prize money.

Overall, there is a prize fund of almost $41million - nearly double what was on offer at SW19 just six years ago.

Players will now pick up just over $45,000 for making it through qualifying to the first round.
