Beatriz Gonzalez was the first to get behind Gastronomy Day, joining Lavazza’s dream team of ambassadors in 2016. Since then, she has delighted in developing delectable dishes that combine coffee and fine food. Her goal today was to come up with an Italian breakfast – a tough but entertaining task. "I made buns alla Genovese with a green juice to wash them down,” said the chef. “In Italy, breakfast is often savoury, which I love. So I thought of making buns with glazed pesto, Parma ham and pecorino cheese. This was followed by an apple, celery, pineapple and cucumber juice as a palate cleanser before serving coffee."
