The non-tattooed Pliskova twin has so far failed to emulate the success of fifth-ranked sister, Karolina, and went down convincingly 6-0 6-4 to Kerber.
It put the German’s Australian Open title defence well and truly back on track.
Kerber, who had struggled through her opening two rounds in three sets, needed just 55 minutes to see off the world No.58.
It was a confidence-boosting victory after a shaky start to her 2017 campaign.
“It was better, actually,” Kerber said. “I was feeling very good from the first point, but of course matches like this are always tough to play against opponents … serving very well, and you have to bring a lot of balls back, moving good, and just going for it.
