I arrived in Madrid on Thursday morning. After Stuttgart I went back home to Bucharest for a few days, because I felt a little bit of pain with my injury – I injured my right ankle before Fed Cup – and I wanted to have it checked. But now I’m here, I’m feeling good, and I’m ready to start this tournament!
Let me tell a little bit about what I’ve done today, my first full day here in Madrid. I did some running for about 20 or 30 minutes after I woke up, then I went for breakfast, then I had a practice session for about an hour and a half with Pavlyuchenkova - we played points.
Then I had lunch and came here for the WTA’s All Access Hour! I also helped at the draw. Before I went to the draw I said it would be good to play a qualifier first round, so I would get a Sunday start, and it happened, so I’m happy!
This tournament means a lot to me. Mr. Tiriac gave me a wildcard here every time I needed it, and last year I started to play really well here, seeing that I can play a higher level. My goal here this year is to win a few matches and enjoy this one, because I feel good here, and the courts are very nice. I’ll be practicing on the stadium court here today too.
I think I have a chance to play there this year, and I’d like to prepare for that as much as I can. I’m looking forward to seeing how it plays.
Thank you all for reading my blog! Don’t forget to send me your questions…
