Andrea Petkovic and Sera Errani will take each other on in one of the most highly anticipated women’s encounters of the day.
Magdalena Rybarikova will play Annika Beck while Kaia Kanep, a quarter-finalist last year in Madrid, will debut against America’s Alison Riske.
Garbiñe Muguruza will make her debut against Silvia Soler in a match between two of Spain’s best female players, and their compatriot Lara Arruabarrena will also be playing on Saturday against Tsvetana Pironkova. The match between the two Spanish women on the Centre Court, the Manolo Santana Stadium will be one of the highlights during Saturday’s action.
This will be the third time these players have met, having already gone head-to-head in 2010 and 2013. Muguruza is one of the figureheads of a generation of players knocking hard at the door to climb to the higher echelons of the ranking and will be eagerly hoping to impress the Spanish crowds.
