María Sharapova bringing the torch into the Fisht Olympic Stadium in her hometown of Sochi

SOCHI, Russia
Two years ago in London, Maria Sharapova was the first female flag bearer for Russia in Olympic history, and she continued to conjure up the magic in her hometown of Sochi on Friday, bringing the torch into the Fisht Olympic Stadium at the Winter Olympics opening ceremony.

Sharapova has been in Sochi all week as an on-air correspondent for NBC, as well as to unveil a newly-refurbished tennis court and hitting wall at Riviera Park in Sochi - the court on which she first learned to play the sport.

At the opening ceremony she was dazzling in the Russian Olympic uniform.
