Caroline García, First Mallorca Open champion
Crepuscular rays of sun shone on the central tennis court of Santa Ponsa’s Tennis Club to crown Caroline Garcia as the first champion in the history of the Mallorca Open. Her victory over Anastasija Sevastova 6-3, 6-4 in the grand final earned her the third single WTA title of her career, and gaining the eternal affection of the Majorcan public. Before defeating the Latvian, Caroline Garcia had to overcome difficult barriers to win against Carina Witthöft, Anna-Lena Friedsam, Ana Ivanovic, and Kirsten Flipkens. This French Lady completed a perfect week that will never be forgotten.
