Alize Cornet scorched No.9 seed Agnieszka Radwanska first up on Chatrier on Saturday to match her best Grand Slam result.
Remonstrating as she rides the full range of emotions, it can be difficult to determine whether Alize Cornet is deep in the throes of a three-set tussle or swinging freely, in cruise control.
Fortunately for the French fans on Philippe-Chatrier Court on Saturday, it was the latter as she carved up ninth seed Agnieszka Radwanska’s serve en route to a 6-2, 6-1 victory.
It is just the second time the world No.43 has progressed to the fourth round at Roland-Garros.
“I don’t have any words, I’m so happy,” Cornet said. “We work so hard for moments like this all year round. It’s been very difficult with my injury so that makes it even sweeter to be here into the fourth round.”
