Less than 17 hours after prevailing in a near-three hour quarterfinal marathon against fellow WTA Rising Star Kristina Mladenovic, the No.4-seeded Bencic took the court again and this time she was just too on top of her game, storming out to a 6-3, 3-1 lead and, after the No.2-seeded Jankovic caught up to 3-3, reeling off three more games in a row - and the last eight points - to close it out, 6-3, 6-3.
"Everything worked well for me. I played a really good match," Bencic beamed.
"My serve could have worked better, but it was a little bit windy, so it was tricky.
But other than that I played really well against JJ, which is always difficult because she gets a lot of balls back, and makes you hit an extra shot.
