Antwerp returns to the WTA Calendar in 2015, with the reintroduction of the BNP Paribas Fortis Diamond Games.First held in 2002, Antwerp was a fixture on tour for seven years, during which time its honor roll filled up with a Who's Who of the modern game. Venus Williams lifted the inaugural title, defeating Justine Henin and returned 12 months later to defend her crown, this time seeing off Belgium's other favorite daughter, Kim Clijsters. 
There were popular victories for Clijsters in 2004 and Henin in 2008, bookending Amélie Mauresmo's three-year domination of the event. Home to the event is the historic Antwerps Sportpaleis. Built in the 1930s for track cycling, the venue can host nearly 20,000 people and is the second most visited event hall in the world, second only to Madison Square Garden.
