karolina Pliskova into Semis of the Kia Korea Open 2014


Karolina Pliskova (CZE, No32) won the quarterfinals while Klara Koukalova (CZE) was caught up by Maria Kirilenko (RUS) among the top ranked 4 players. 

Pliskova who received seed No.2 beated Nicole Gibbs(USA, No.101) over 2-0(6-3, 6-4). But Gibbs also showed a great play against Top ranked player. Return and Service determined the winner. With a great defending ability and fast movements, she showed a strongness in return. She also bothered Pliskova with seizing the opportunities of 7 breaks. But she made 9 double faults and unforced mistakes in succession. Pliskova didn’t miss the chance that was come from the opponent’s mistakes. She dominated the court with a strong service (170km/h on average) and kept gaining points. During the interview, Pliskova said
 “The play was not easy. 
I felt it’s hard physically because I played singles and doubles and the sun was hot.” She also continued answering that “Kanepi is not easy but I want to play with Kirilenko. 
She has lots of experiences and I meet her for the first time in this tournament. So it’s going to be a good experience.
” Plskova is passing her day’s in her best season in that she was the finalist in Tailand Pataya Open and Nuremberg in Germany last year. She is supposed to have a semifanals against Maria Kirilenko (RUS) on 20th.
