Germany wins over Brazil in fed cup 2020. the analysis

Two-time Fed Cup champions Germany will play in the inaugural Fed Cup by BNP Paribas Finals in Budapest after Laura Siegemund recorded her second win of the weekend to clinch the Fed Cup by BNP Paribas Qualifiers tie for the visitors.

The world No.73, who had never won a Fed Cup match before this weekend, defeated Brazil’s No.1 player Gabriela Ce 6-1 6-2 in one hour 42 minutes to give Germany an unassailable 3-0 lead over Brazil on clay in Florianopolis.

After an exchange of breaks in the first two games, Siegemund started to dominate the match. The German used fewer dropshots than on Friday and her more aggressive game style allowed her to control the points from the baseline. She won five games in a row against the left-hander on her way to taking the opening set.
