PIRONKOVA_KERBER 64 64 Tsvetana Pironkova has capped a stunning week at Apia International Sydney, completing an unlikely tournament victory with a straight-set win over No.5 seed Angelique Kerber on Friday night. The Bulgarian world No.107 came through qualifying to become the first qualifier in the history of the tournament to hoist the trophy, a moment made possible by her composed 6-4 6-4 victory over the highly-fancied German. The win gives Pironkova her eighth straight victory this week and first WTA title, and promises a significant rise in the rankings.
