HAMPTON WIN IN US OPEN 2013. FIRST ROUND

HAMPTON_ARRUABARRENA 64 62
Twenty-three-year-old Jamie Hampton of Auburn, Ala., came out strong in her round first-round match, posting a two sets, win over Lara Arruabarrena. Hampton ripped four aces and plenty of powerful cross-court winners past the Spaniard in her advancing to the second round of the US Open for the first time.
She exited in the first round in her prior three trips to the main draw. The third-highest-ranked American woman in the world, at No. 26, Hampton displayed for the home crowd her tough all-court game and her all-business personality on court, dictating play throughout most of the match and knocking down 28 winners to Arruabarrena’s seven.
She showed great resiliency as well, pulling out some of her fastest and most accurate serves to battle her way out of trouble and to stay in control of the match.
