The WTA travels to the Far East from late February to early March for the BMW Malaysian Open.
Won by Alisa Kleybanova at its inaugural staging in 2010, Kuala Lumpur has since been captured by Jelena Dokic and Hsieh Su-Wei, the second Taiwanese to secure a WTA title. Other notables to have competed at the Bukit Kiara Equestrian & Country Resort include former and current Top 10 players Marion Bartoli, Elena Dementieva, Jelena Jankovic, Li Na, Agnieszka Radwanska and Francesca Schiavone.
Malaysia's only global city, Kuala Lumpur is a financial, insurance, real estate, media and arts hub. It is the country's federal capital and most populous city and has hosted major sports, political and cultural events.
