Venus williams  was knocked out of the St. Petersburg Trophy after a straight-sets defeat to Kristina Mladenovic.
The unseeded player played some stunning tennis to win 6-3, 6-1 in just 54 minutes, handing the American a shock in their first ever meeting and suggesting that she has a bright future in singles.
