From a break down in the final set, Caroline Wozniacki stormed to the last six games to stave off an upset bid from Timea Babos and advance to the second round at Wimbledon, 6-4, 4-6, 6-1.
The match was scheduled as to be arranged when play began on Tuesday, but with two men's singles matches ending in retirements on Centre Court following Angelique Kerber's victory, the fans on Wimbledon's main stage were treated to a fourth match.

Karolina Pliskova put down an impressive perfomance to knock out Evgeniya Rodina, 6-1, 6-4, to advance into the second round of the Wimbledon Championships.
"I thought I was serving well, just playing well on her serve, which is always important," Pliskova said after the match. "I was just trying to be aggressive. I didn't know her game that much. We played once in the past.
"It was just my second appearance on this court, so it was a little bit new for me, as well. I just think I made it pretty well."

It was a disappointed Laura Robson who took her seat in front of the tennis media at Wimbledon on Monday afternoon.
Dressed all in black, with a matching hat pulled down over her forehead, the color of her clothes clearly matched her mood. The British No.4, awarded a wildcard by the tournament organizers, had been knocked out by Brazil's Beatriz Haddid Maia in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2, just over an hour before, and was clearly stung by the manner of her defeat.
“I just didn’t feel like I played my best tennis,” she said, with a degree of understatement. “It wasn’t the way I’ve been playing the last few weeks either.”

Petra Kvitova made a winning return to Centre Court at Wimbledon on Monday, ousting Sweden's Johanna Larsson in the first round at Wimbledon, 6-3, 6-4.
Kvitova entered Centre Court to warm applause, and did look the part of a two-time champion playing a woman who had never won a match in six previous trips to the All-England Club for much of the 84-minute encounter.
"It was very special, I have to say," Kvitova said. "When we came on the court, I know British crowd, but today I feel a little bit different. I mean, they scream a little bit more than they normally do. It was very special for me to feel the energy from the crowd again. It was through the match all the time.

Venus Williams overcame a spirited first-set showing from Elise Mertens to ease herself into her 20th Wimbledon campaign, progressing 7-6(7), 6-4.
By taking the court today, the American equalled sister Serena for the most main draw matches played at the All England Club among active players.
"I never thought that I'd play this many, but I'm grateful to be here and to play," Williams told reporters afterwards. "I love the game."

Two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova does not see herself as the odds on favorite for the upcoming Championships, Wimbledon, despite being one of just two former winners of the tournament in this year's women's draw.
"I think we still do have a great players in the draw, even Serena is not playing," the Czech said in pre-tournament press on Saturday. "I mean, I think it's a few favorites of the tournament, but it's very open - so who knows who's going to win."
EASTBOURNE, Great Britain
Karolina Pliskova clinched her third title of 2017 after edging past Caroline Wozniacki in straight sets at the Aegon International Eastbourne.
Twelve months after falling in the Eastbourne final last year to Dominika Cibulkova, Pliskova was able to go one step further and claim the biggest grass court title of her career, winning 6-4, 6-4 in an hour and 22 minutes.
With the victory Pliskova becomes the first Czech to triumph at Eastbourne since Jana Novotna in 1998 – and that’s a good omen too, as Novotna went on to win the Eastbourne-Wimbledon double that year.
