Petra Martic came full circle in a career full of comebacks on Sunday, fighting from a set down to defeat Marketa Vondrousova, 1-6, 6-4, 6-1 to win her first career title at the TEB BNP Paribas Istanbul Cup.

 Pauline Parmentier clinched her third WTA career singles title and first in ten years with a topsy-turvy 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 victory over Slovenia's Polona Hercog at the TEB BNP Paribas Istanbul Cup on Sunday.

 Elina Svitolina took home a tour-leading third title of 2017, ousting No.6 seed Elise Mertens, 6-2, 6-4 to win the TEB BNP Paribas Istanbul Cup.

“This was something very different," she said in her post-match press conference. "Last time I played on clay, I got injured in the early part of the season, so it was difficult for me to come back on this surface and trust my body and my legs. This year, I prepared better, took more time off, and I was very happy that physically, I could make it through this week.

“Clay is very tough, and it can kill your body if you’re not prepared.”

Lesia Tsurenko survived some tense moments late in the first set then completely pulled away to beat Urszula Radwanska in straight sets and win the first WTA title of her career at the International-level TEB BNP Paribas Istanbul Cup. 

 It was a rare unseeded final on the WTA, and both finalists had taken out seeds along the way - Tsurenko had beaten No.6 seed Daria Gavrilova in the first round, while Radwanska had beaten No.3 seed Jelena Jankovic in the first round and No.8 seed Tsvetana Pironkova in the quarterfinals. 
 With a first WTA title on the line for both players, Radwanska looked like she was handling the pressure better early on - she held three set points on Tsurenko's serve up 5-4 in the first set. 
 But the Ukrainian fought them all off and ended up winning seven games in a row to build a 7-5, 4-0 lead, eventually closing it out a few games later after an hour and 32 minutes on court, 7-5, 6-1.

The TEB BNP Paribas Istanbul Cup, a WTA event from 2005 to 2010 that then took a three-year absence while the WTA Championships were held in Istanbul, returned to the calendar as an International event again in 2014. Initially an outdoor clay event, the TEB BNP Paribas Istanbul Cup became an outdoor hardcourt tournament in 2009. 
It has been held at the Koza World of Sport complex - the largest tennis facility in the world with 64 courts and various other sports and amenities - since the 2014 staging. CAROLINE WOZNIACKI CONQUERS THE 22nd TITLE WTA IN ISTAMBUL 2014

In a dream final at the International-level tournament, the No.1-seeded Wozniacki took on the No.2-seeded Vinci. But they got there in very different ways. 

Though she cooled off a pair of WTA Rising Stars - Belinda Bencic and Kristina Mladenovic - in straight sets, Wozniacki was pushed to three sets two rounds in a row, against Karin Knapp in the second round and Karolina Pliskova in the quarters. Meanwhile, on the other half of the draw, Vinci didn't come close to losing a set all tournament. But it was the battle-ready Wozniacki who was better ready for battle in crunch time, completely dominating Vinci in 67 minutes in the final, 6-1, 6-1. 
Her serve was a stronghold - she fought off all six of the break points she faced and held all seven of her sevice games. The Dane was dangerous on the return too, breaking five times in the match, including in Vinci's last three service games.
"I tried to play aggressively like always but made a lot of mistakes," Vinci said. "It's tough to play like that against Caroline because she puts everything back in the court, and it was tough for me to stay in the rallies today. But I'm happy with my week and Caroline just played much better than me." Wozniacki took home her first WTA title of the year and the 22nd of her illustrious career. The former No.1 has now won a WTA title every year for the last seven years, winning her first three in 2008, three more in 2009, six in 2010, six in 2011, two in 2012, one in 2013 and now one in 2014.

From 2-2 in the third set against Misaki Doi, 2013 Australian Open and US Open junior champion Konjuh won three straight games and held on from there en route to a 6-4, 6-7(3), 6-4 triumph. 

 Not only did it put Konjuh into her first WTA quarterfinal, but the 16-year-old Croat became the youngest WTA quarterfinalist since Donna Vekic at Tashkent in September 2012. Her next opponent will be WTA Rising Star Elina Svitolina. As for Vinci, she was up 6-3, 4-1 on Alexandra Dulgheru when the Romanian qualifier retired with a right shoulder injury. 
That improved Vinci to 4-0 in their head-to-head, including a straight set victory just last week in Bucharest - where the Italian reached her first WTA final in a year. "I played well tonight," Vinci said. "It was tough, but this surface suits me and I am pleased with my game overall. I was sorry that she had to retire, but am happy that I am in the quarters and am ready for tomorrow." Next up for Vinci is sixth-seeded Kurumi Nara, who was a 7-6(5), 6-7(3), 6-2 winner over Czech qualifier Katerina Siniakova in two hours and 52 minutes. The Japanese, who came into this week ranked a career-high No.38, fought off two set points in the first set. Also advancing was No.8 seed Karolina Pliskova over Shahar Peer, 6-2, 7-5. That set up a showdown with No.1 seed Caroline Wozniacki, whom she is 0-2 against though she extended the Dane to a third set in both meetings.

After dropping the first set to Karin Knapp, Wozniacki cruised to a 5-0 lead in the second set and eventually won comfortably, 4-6, 6-2, 6-1. "She gave me a good fight today," Wozniacki said.

 "She was competing very well and serving very well. I was a bit low in energy, but I found a way to pull through and am happy that I did." The first time she won a match 6-0, 6-0, at New Haven in 2009, Wozniacki went on to capture the event, and the second time, at the US Open in 2010, she eventually reached the semifinals. A week after falling to Stefanie Voegele in straight sets in the second round of Bad Gastein, No.4 seed and WTA Rising Star Elina Svitolina converted on five of six break points in her 52-minute, 6-0, 6-3 second round triumph over the Swiss. 
 "I played really well today," Svitolina said. "I was putting a lot of pressure on her, and the game plan that my coach gave me worked really well. The conditions were not easy; it was really windy out there, but I am pleased with the way I handled everything after losing to her last week. I am really happy and confident right now." Kristina Mladenovic and Francesca Schiavone beat seeded opponents to set up a quarterfinal encounter against each other. Mladenovic broke serve five times and saved nine of 10 break points on her own serve in her 6-1, 6-3 triumph over third-seeded Klara Koukalova, in the process advancing to her first WTA quarterfinal since last September.
