Belinda bencic conquers of the 2019 Dubai open
The unseeded Bencic, ranked No.45 in the world, came into the match looking to lift her first WTA trophy since the Rogers Cup in Toronto in 2015. Having broken into the Top 10 rankings as a teenager, Bencic found her career derailed by injuries - including a wrist surgery.
Now, the Swiss player is back in the ascendancy after taking down Australian Open finalist Kvitova, 6-3, 1-6, 6-2 in an hour and 45 minutes to claim her third career title.

Belinda Bencic wins over halep in 2019 Dubai open
Halep had a challenge on her hands from Bencic - who had saved six match points in her last match to upset No.8 seed Aryna Sabalenka, a pre-tournament favorite.
But Halep, who reached the final at the Qatar Total Open last week and was contesting her ninth match in 13 days, seemed to run out of steam against Bencic’s attacking, and the Swiss player came back from a set down to claim the victory 4-6, 6-4, 6-2.

Elise Mertens in press conference. #Qatar2019 Qatar Total Open
“I was really happy the way I played this week, actually. I'm happy about the process that I made, starting out playing less well and then getting better every match.
“This is why you do it, to beat those top 10 players and getting the victory at the end.”
Down a set and a break to the reigning Roland Garros champion, Mertens summoned her best tennis to tire out her in-form opposition, spurred on by advice coach David Taylor gave during the match.

Caroline García in fed cup 2019
France’s returning stars Caroline Garcia and Alize Cornet claimed both rubbers on day 1 of their Fed Cup by BNP Paribas first round showdown with Belgium to give Julien Benneteau the perfect start to his captaincy in Liege.
French No. 1 Garcia, playing her first Fed Cup tie since the 2016 final, surged away from Alison Van Uytvanck in the third set for a hard-earned 76(2) 46 62 victory, but it was Cornet who stole the show in Saturday’s second rubber at the Country Hall du Sart-Tilman, downing world No. 21 Elise Mertens 76(6) 62 for her first singles win in the competition in five years, and the fourth of her career.

Camila giorgi in fed cup 2019. The best moments
It gave Bencic a yield of two points from two rubbers at the Swiss Tennis Centre, the exact opposite of Giorgi’s own harvest on her first Fed Cup appearance since 2016. Moreover, with the huge contribution of Viktorija Golubic’s shock second rubber win over Giorgi on day one, the memory of 2018 – a campaign in which the Swiss did not win a single live rubber – was firmly consigned to bin of distant memory, as the hosts snapped their recent run of three defeats, their longest losing streak in 13 years.
Czech Republic 1 vs Romania 1
While the respect is clear and obvious, recently-deposed world No. 1 Simona Halep is convinced that Romania possess the firepower to cause a Fed Cup by BNP Paribas upset and shock defending champions Czech Republic this weekend.
Romania travel to Ostrava with the odds seemingly stacked against them, and not simply because Czech Republic are serial title winners having been crowned Fed Cup champions six times in the past eight years
