Radwanska was the most creative player of her generation. Martina Navratilova. ❤️👌
Agnieszka Radwanska was a contradiction - she was the most imaginative and creative player of her generation, and yet so risk-averse that she had a really hard time trying anything new on the practice court.
Tennis fans will remember Radwanska for playing shots that others wouldn't have even thought of - sometimes on purpose and sometimes when reacting to an unusual situation. In an era of bam-bam tennis, Radwanska created so much with her head and her hands, playing tennis on the fly, and just letting it happen. What people might not have realised was that Radwanska - who has announced her retirement - was not one to venture out of her comfort zone.

Agnieszka radwanska has announced her retirement from professional tennis. 😢 😥😭
Agnieszka Radwanska has announced her retirement from professional tennis.
In a statement, the Pole said: "I'd like to share with you one of the most important decisions of my life. Today, after 13 years of playing tennis competitively, I have decided to end my career. This was not an easy decision. I am grateful to have so many special memories, including 20 WTA titles, the WTA Championships in Singapore, a Wimbledon final, and so many others.
"Unfortunately I am no longer able to train and play the way I used to, and recently my body can't live up to my expectations. Taking into consideration my health and the heavy burdens of professional tennis, I have to concede that I’m not able to push my body to the limits required."

Barbora Strycova and Katerina Siniakova handed the Czech Republic the perfect start to this Fed Cup Final weekend, securing a 2-0 lead over defending champions USA in front of a packed O2 Arena in Prague.
It was a dramatic opening day between the two most successful nations in Fed Cup by BNP Paribas history. Strycova, playing her final tie in the competition, fought back to claim a 67(5) 61 64 victory over teenage US debutant Sofia Kenin before Siniakova, making her first appearance for her nation in Prague’s storied O2 Arena, edged past Alison Riske 63 76(2).
The Czechs are now one win away from an 11th Fed Cup title, and sixth in the last eight seasons, while victory would also end their 33-year wait for a victory against the 18-time champions.
