Simona Halep has been forced to withdraw from the BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global due to an ongoing back injury.

Halep sustained the injury during a pre-tournament practice session in late September at the Dongfeng Motor Wuhan Open, which was later diagnosed as a disk hernia. Having flowing to Singapore in hopes her injury might subside, Halep confirmed her withdrawal on Thursday.
