The 2018 US Open will offer yet another rise in compensation with a $53 million dollar total prize purse, while Grammy Award-winning singer Kelly Clarkson will headline the opening ceremony.

The USTA today announced that the prize money for the 2018 US Open will be at a record high of $53 million, maintaining the US Open as the richest purse in tennis history. 

Prize money at the US Open has increased by 57% since 2013.  2018 marks the 45th Anniversary of equal prize money which was the first tournament to offer equal prize money to men and women competitors in 1973.
