It was the scoreline few people expected after one day of play between two Fed Cup by BNP Paribas powerhouse teams in Czech Republic and Germany: 2-0.
And really, before play began on Saturday in the Porsche Arena in Stuttgart, you could have been excused for not knowing which team would be up 2-0. Or – more likely an outcome – bet safely on a 1-1 tie headed into Sunday’s finish.
