Simona Halep has secured the top seed at the Miami Open, a first for the three-time Grand Slam runner-up and current World No. 1.
Halep headlines a packed 2018 tournament that includes former World No. 1’s and Grand Slam champions. This year’s Australian Open winner Caroline Wozniacki leads the bottom half of the draw as the No. 2 seed while two-time Grand Slam champ Garbiñe Muguruza lands in the No. 3 seed and could meet Halep in the semifinal.
Elina Svitolina, who helped with the draw, is the No. 4 seed and is on course to face Wozniacki for a spot in the final if the seeds hold. Karolína Plíšková, Jelena Ostapenko, and Caroline Garcia are the No. 5-7 seeds, respectively.
Three past Grand Slam winners round out the top 10 with Venus Williams (No. 8), Petra Kvitová (No. 9), and Angelique Kerber (No. 10)
