Dominka Cibulkova showed great resilience serving under pressure during her 7-6(3) 6-3 win over Urszula radwanska at the bank of the west classic Thursday.
Cibulkova actually won a higher percentage of her service points when facing a break point than she did on normal service points in the match. Overall, Cibulkova saved 60% of the break points she faced Thursday. On non-break points, she won just 55% of her service points.
Both players were broken twice in the opening set, which Cibulkova won in a tie-break.
In the second set, Cibulkova truly withstood pressure in her service games. She saved five of seven break points, good for 71%. On non-break points in the second set, she won just 46% of her service points (13 of 28).
