SIMONA HALEP IN SEMI-FINALS OF THE CHAMPIOSHIPS WIMBLEDON 2014

From 4-1 down in the first set, Halep reeled off an incredible 11 consecutive games to record a 6-4, 6-0 victory in just 57 minutes.

Her victory came by way of her greater consistency and court smarts. She continually forced the erratic Lisicki to hit one more ball thanks to stellar defence, yet she was often able to command the rallies and get Lisicki on the run with her brand of controlled aggression, a dynamic the German was far from comfortable with. Halep’s opponent in the semi-finals will be Canada’s Eugenie Bouchard.
